Raksha Bandhan- Promises of Love, Protection, Security, Auspicious bondage

Let’s have a glance on famous lines by Wordsworth, in the relevance of affection of a sister…

Woods are lovely, dark and deep

But I have Promises to Keep.

Rakhi, a way to remind brother’s promises toward sister. Promises of affection. Protection, security, auspicious bondage.

Raksha Bandhan is……

  • A thread that connects two hearts and souls.
  • A way to show the relationship beyond selfishness
  • A festival that has broken all the boundaries of religion
  • A symbol that says that humanity is still alive
  • A path to pray for happiness and goodwill for each other
  • Finest example…… breaking all the prejudices for gender bias and putting brothers and sisters under same roof

Raksha Bandhan, i.e. bond of protection is being celebrated on Shravan Purnima (full moon day of Shravan month).

The importance of Raksha Bandhan

The festival is as old as mankind. Still it has been celebrated with more enthusiasm and scared feelings. Truly, it has broken all the boundaries of places. Many countries are now participating in the rituals of Rakhi. Even Indian citizens living in abroad have not forgotten value of this marvellous festival.

Examples says that Rakhi is not limited to tying siblings. You can tie Rakhi to anyone , for whom you have feelings of protection, affection and real intimation. Indeed, we believe that, the Fest of Rakhi is the old way of social networking, bonding, equality and feeling of brotherhood.

Myths says……

  • Draupdi has tied a Rakhi by tearing saree and Krishna has saved him from being dishonored.
  • Brave Rani Karnavati has tied Rakhi to a Muslim emperor Humayun, and he helped her son to get his kingdom back.

But we are not as great as them. We just need to tie a Rakhi and say ”Bhaiya, I care & pray for you”. That’s it for us. It’s a great way of showing love. Believe us.
